Sustainability Month at Yeşim Group Concludes with the Sixth Sustainability Festival
Yeşim Group brought its employees together around sustainability awareness as part of its annual Sustainability Month, held every September. The month featured talks, training sessions, a documentary screening, an awards ceremony, a swap event, development programmes, quizzes, workshops and a range of physical and mental activities. The programme concluded with the sixth edition of the Sustainability Festival. In his opening remarks, Mutlu Toksöz, Sustainability Director at Yeşim Group, noted that sustainability may seem like a vast and complex subject at first glance. He explained that, in essence, it is the sum of the small decisions made in daily life. Citing avoiding unnecessary consumption, disposing of waste correctly and not wasting energy as examples, Toksöz stressed that what matters most is doing these things together and turning them into a habit.
At the awards ceremony held during Sustainability Month, certificates were presented to employees who had completed the Sustainability Training and Development Programme and the Corporate Transformation Programme for Personal Development. Teams whose sustainability initiatives had achieved recognition on national and international platforms received the Sustainability Honour Award. Dilek Cesur, Corporate Communications and Brand Director at Yeşim Group, reminded attendees that the company's corporate culture is built on four core values: We Work with a Passion for Performance, We Walk Hand in Hand with Our Customers, We Succeed Together, and Our Priority is Sustainability. Cesur underlined the importance of these values being reflected in everyday life and becoming an integral part of the corporate culture. Describing the festival as an important part of this approach, she said that pioneering efforts in sustainability and inspiring other companies are part of the role Yeşim has taken on. Following the opening remarks, awards were presented to employees who had reported occupational health and safety risks and to the quiz competition winners. The festival continued throughout the day with a variety of competitions, games and prizes.
